I guess they pulled it off, because its almost to the point of being too old to care about or discuss without looking like a historian. If you are just getting accepted into college today this was before your time and you are fine with being told all about it. If you are a history teacher you probably give out A's for any passable "Bin Laden did it" paper.
So, there ya go... Proof of concept for the idea put forth and into infamous practice by Hitler, that if you are going to tell a lie you tell the biggest lie possible and repeat it until it becomes the truth.
But wait, didn't you read the 9/11 Commission Report there Johnny boy? HA! Ya, right. I bet YOU did! You saw the cover of it and know it is red, white and blue, that's about all. But don't get yourself a copy on my account, because it is a totally contrived work of fiction, a homage to the seminal work produced by the last great all star cast of "Congress Critters", The Warren Commission.
Let me not single out every reader for their total and shamefully willing ignorance, their reticence to even argue the 'facts' about planes and Muslims, box cutters and Bin Laden, terrorism vs. freedom and all that other tripe. There are still a few, umm.. how did the FBI put it in a recent report? I think the descriptive term used to further label the already embarrassingly unpatriotic conspiracy theorists was "domestic terrorists". People who can't help but call bullshit on this whole scam. You guys are out there, I know you are. But for the rest; It was a masterful "Low Tech/High Concept" blow to the "Great Satan" for which we are ever grateful because it showed us clearly who we need to hate.
May I remind you of a few facts?
George Bush dragged his feet for 441 days, and went on record asking Senate Majority Leader Tom Dashle personally to limit Congresses probes into the disaster before grudgingly announcing he would authorize the formation of the 9/11 Commission when the pressure became to much.
Then he appointed Henry Kissinger to chair it. WTF? Henry Kissinger???? If that doesn't raise eyebrows you plucked all of yours out because there is no better cover-up king on the planet!
Then when 9/11 victims led by Kristen Brightwiser publicly requested answers to some of Kissinger's more curious relationships and got a meeting one member of the group in particular, weary from watching Kissinger dance all around any real disclosure went straight for the throat demanding he reveal the client list of his consultancy, specifically any Saudi-American clients. Kissinger squirmed like a worm and when she asked DIRECTLY if this list included Bin Laden, he did not answer her but rather immediately resigned the post, making that announcement in a press conference the following morning.
Two new people were chosen to preside over the 9/11 Commission, New Jersey Governor Thomas Kane and former Indiana Congressman Lee Hamilton, as president and vice president respectively.
Over the course of the probe six of the ten Commissioners expressed concern that the investigation was misled, stymied, hampered by conflicts of interest and that they felt forced to participate in a politically motivated cover-up. Now think about that complaint for a minute. What were these conflicts of interest? If you are sitting on this panel and are a US Congressmen, Senator, or other high ranking public official and you have a conflict of interest preventing you from properly or honestly investigating an attack on your home country YOU are a treasonous asshole. That's it. Because whatever interest somehow supersedes your role in the leadership of this country cannot, by definition, not be a violation of your oath of office!
Kane and Hamilton would later co-author a whistle blower book called "Without Precedent" in which they lay out their grievances about being compelled into co-chairing an investigation that was setup to fail, concerns they also expressed in press conferences following the release of the final report.
In one broadcasted by CBS Lee Hamilton said " We got started late, so a very short timeframe that we had to have extended, we weren't given enough money... they were afraid we were going to hang somebody." In published research by James Corbett he noted that the majority of the commissioners felt that they had been deliberately obstructed, lied to, undermined by the White House or set up with staff that had conflicts of interest with the investigation.
So what else is there to think about with regard to the notion that the entire Commission was a whitewash/brainwash designed for mass consumption, that would give the appearance of action and allow us all to conveniently forget this was by no means a simple act of foreign aggression. And that's exactly the effect it had.
One of the appointed Commissioners, Max Cleland, resigned because, as Max put it, the investigation "had been deliberately compromised by the POTUS". Another Commissioner, John Lehman admitted they had to go through Karl Rove and other senior White House members to access key documents in their investigation. And the icing on the cake came from Bob Kerry who remarked that the attack on the towers was a 30 year old conspiracy, but to date no mainstream reporter has followed up with him to clarify this statement.
If you have ever seen that shocking trick where it is possible to fold up a bill in certain way that creates a perfect picture of the twin towers site that day, with the buildings on fire and smoke reeling out it really makes any reasonable person think. I mean these guys love to put it right in our faces to mock our gullibility and the design of these bills, which were in circulation at the time were approved many years before. Maybe its a fluke, maybe its a clever trick, but its dammed suspicious because it doesn't take any imagination to clearly see the tip, as if it was a bad joke, premeditated by someone who would later use it to intimidate just about anyone.
So if you are among the people who rightfully question the evidence, the silenced whistle blowers, of which there have been many, the members of the 9/11 Commission, the majority of whom have gone on record with their beliefs that the entire investigation was a cover up, how does it feel to be branded a conspiratorial loony, or worse, an aspiring domestic terrorist?
Do these 9/11 anniversaries instill a deep sense of patriotism in you? Do they make you boil with rage? Or do you just get up, go to work, zoning out to the morning drive time media that begins every broadcast hour with an ode to 9/11, the worst ever attack on our home soil and go about your day?
Is it "We the People" or "You the Sheeple?"
